A visit to the POLKS

Our friends Brad and Lori and Isaac's dear friend Andrew moved to Clanton and live at Raleigh's place as foster parents.  So, we took a little field trip to visit them.  We miss them!  Isaac LOVES Andrew and they are so cute.  Lori and I tried forcing them to be friends when they were little and they did not like each other at all for a very long time and right about the time we gave up they started loving each other.  Typical.

So, seeing Andrew alone was fun - but Andrew lives in an awesome HUGE house with a HUGE YARD and a MOUNTAIN.  That's what the kids called it.  All of the kids including Noah enjoyed going down this hill any and every way the could.  Who knew one hill could be hours of entertainment.  Isaac rolled down it, they rode bikes down it, they road wagons down it, cars down it, and a four wheeler down it.  They road down it alone, with a friend and with a whole wagon full.  They road down it slow, fast, they purposefully flipped the wagon and they were drug down it by the wagon.  Thrill seekers.  That's what they were - and they had a really really fun day.

We cannot wait to go back.

And did I mention I drove the church van down there.  Maybe we all have a little thrill seeking inside of us.

This Easter is a bit of an off year for us.  I ordered Easter dresses from Kohls and they didn't come in!  Oops.  But I just preached to myself that that was not what Easter is all about.

We had fun celebrating Jesus resurrection at church with a full house and with all our friends and then to come home to lunch with my sister and her family and my parents!   It was a very low key - relaxed Easter!

Mamma was cracking us up.  Silena and I finally figured out we think she thought it was Awana night.  She was beyond stressed that we were not sitting in the living room watching and teaching the kids bible lessons?!?  I would go check on them to see if they really were getting in trouble and they were being so good.  Like, surprisingly good!!  She said we needed to go get ready for Jesus to come and that he would be very disappointed with us sitting in the kitchen and talking and not teaching the children.  Yet...She wasnt teaching them either.  This disease is crazy.  And sometimes you have to laugh to keep from losing your mind.

We really had a great day.  It always fills my heart with joy to have days like this.

With Anna recovering from surgery she is always with me.  SO, I could not really get away to gather Easter Basket goodies.  Not only did she go with me and help get all the Easter stuff... She also helped me stuff the baskets.  BUT, she didn't make her own basket - ha!  So I'm not the WORST MOM EVER... Just bad!  ha!

She wants to set out Christmas this year!  HA!

Anna Erin and I sat in the foyer during the service.  The place was packed and again, with Anna recovering sitting still or even correctly a chore.

Shea and I were TWINS .. Sorta!!

two of my ALL TIME FAVORITE PEOPLE right here!!

Asher is a mess!!  Life of the party!

Eden and Chewbacca

Teenagers these days!

The kids finally got to dig into their baskets when everyone left!  They were so good about it.  I told them they could look but could not touch and they didn't all day long.  Then I left them just have at all that candy!!  Worth the wait.

So, No pictures of Noah and his basket,  no pictures of everyone together in new outfits but - we still had Easter with the people we love the most and...
Jesus still rose again!!

I'd say it was a GREAT Easter.

It's that time of year again!!  SOFTBALL/BASEBALL!!

The kids are loving it this year and I just love our teams.  Mary is the Blue Nightmares - be afraid!!  AND...we get to play against Avery.  I wish Avery was on our team.  That would be too much fun.  Not sure we could handle the fun there!

Isaac is a BRAVE!!!!  We love the Braves and he is doing so good.  He is in the pitchers circle.  Makes me nervous every game but he is learning so much and having so much fun.  He looks forward to his games and he loves us watching him.

Love this coach.  He really believes in Isaac and motivates him to do well.

Happy Anniversary

16 YEARS and we are still happy to keep counting.  Not a day goes by that I want out!!  We had a busy anniversary but ended it focused on each other.

I took the kids to see Zootopia, Isaac had his first baseball game in the RAIN and then a midnight snack at Firebirds!

Anna's Dance Pictures

Because of the surgery we knew at the beginning of the year that Anna would not be able to dance in the recital.  We've been bummed about it all year.  We didn't order costumes and she's had her ups and downs about missing the recital.  But sweet Mrs. Shalita will not let her just skip out.  She texted me the week of surgery and said she had a costume for Anna and a part to play.  She wanted her to be at the pictures if she could.

So, we get to pictures and Shalita has a REFEREE shirt for her.  And she is in the middle of all the FOOTBALL players.  How cute is that?!?  And she loved it!!  Shalita really knows how to make people feel special!!  Really!!

She probably should not have gone but she worked through it and was absolutely beautiful.  The first round she did good but waiting for the second round of pictures she wanted to give up - but she wouldn't leave.  I asked her if she wanted to.  I told her she didn't have to stay.  And when we got in the car and she laid back in the seat she said,  "I'm so glad I stayed!"

When we got home she stayed in the bed until the next day.

Waiting ... No fun!
