Scoliosis Post-Op Appointment

We went for Anna's post-op appointment.  She has healed up just great.  She has gone back to school and attempting life back to normal.  Her pain is manageable and is mostly at night after long days.

Sometimes I still see her a little crooked and the doctor said she still has about a 30 degree curve which may get a little straighter the further out from surgery she gets.  I'm praying she gets straighter as she heals.  He said these rods are cobalt chrome rods and are not easily bent or broken.  They are really conservative in their restrictions but he said some doctors do not have any limitations after surgery.  So, yes, she needs to be careful - still no bending, lifting, or twisting but she is not completely fragile like we think she is.  He said you cannot bend these rods with your hands.  It just amazes me the technology and the ability to do these surgeries and the success, all glory to God...REALLY!

Anna has really done amazing through this process and I'm so proud of her.  She's grown up so much during this.  She's braver, stronger, and more courageous than I imagined.  She's done this all with a smile on her face.  She's made it so easy on us to take care of her and serve her.  She's a gem.  I'm 100% thankful for her.

After 7 weeks she's walking the blue river!
