The Casts

Anna went to have her cast taken off Thursday BUT she has to wear it for another 3 weeks! Just in time for Easter!! WHOOP! Her arm has healed very nicely and straight! YAY! BUT, it's still pretty fragile and since she's so "active" they decided the safest thing to do would be allow the bone to get stronger in the cast! If they took it off now there would be a chance of reinjury! NO THANK YOU!! So...she now has a tie-died cast! Pretty COOL - actually the coolest one yet! But she's pretty much over it! I felt so bad for her when she held back tears as they put the cast on. She was so looking forward to having her "real hand" back!

First cast went all the way up her arm and she had to wear it for two weeks!

Then came the "bears and balloons" she had to wear for 4 weeks! Thank the LORD those "bears and balloons" are GONE!! That cast was SO ugly!! And she loved it! I really think she loved that I hated it!Now, she's sportin' this one!

She's such a cutie - and a trooper! No CAST can stop her!!

Baby Will

Look at this beautiful precious baby!!

I got the absolute privilege to take pictures of Shea's nephew Will... The weather was absolutely amazing to take a naked baby outside for pictures! He was so good considering we had him naked, moving him all around during nap time, and he got a little hungry towards the end. But that doesn't change just how beautiful he is!!

Ok...He's done!!

Thank you so much Shea for recommending me for the job! And thanks for your assistance! I couldn't have done it without you!

Happy Anniversary Baby!

I got you on my MI-ND!! Who needs Rick and Bubba to sing to us?!? I got this!!

Babe... You say I am patient with you - but YOU are more patient with me. You know this is true! You have loved me so well the past 11 years. You've given me (with the Lord's blessing, I know) 4 of the most beautiful children in the whole wide world. In my personal opinion I think we have grown so beautifully into that "one flesh" - it truly is a beautiful thing! I love being your helpmate (even though I got some work to do). I love that you are our leader but not our dictator. I love how you encourage me to pursue things you think I'm good at! I love seeing you walk through our doors. I love that you talk to me about what you have on your mind (even when some/most of it is beyond what I can think). I love just hanging out with you! I love sitting beside you. I love to fall asleep next to you and I love that you are my "alarm clock." You have taken such good care of me. My life will never ever be the same since I met you. You complete me!!

The Lord has been so good to us! I am thankful to HIM who gave me YOU! I love you, babe! You bring so much JOY to me!

Spring Break

Wednesday we took all these friends to the zoo! The zoo is not my favorite place - I hate being hot (which was not an issue this day), I think it stinks (literally smells), it's a lot of work keeping up with all the kids and pushing strollers, and for all of us to go it's pretty expensive. So expensive in fact that we had to buy a zoo pass to make it worth it to go! One more time at the zoo and it's paid for. So this year - the Dollars will be going to the zoo! But what makes the zoo SO fun is FRIENDS! And the more friends you have the more adventurous it gets! For example... see the picture below!

Notice in the picture there is a little green Lizard, Woody, and Noah! Well, that was the last time those 3 were seen together! The Lizard found a new home at the zoo...He wanted to live in a safe environment where he would be fed and protected from the other WILD animals. Woody and Noah both got lost but we recovered them fairly quickly! Really, Noah did get lost and it was sad. He stopped for water and we all kept moving on. He said, "I read in a book that if you get separated from your family stay where you are and they will find you." I thought for sure he would be making it worse "looking for us" but he stayed where he was and Jason found him. He was crying and scared! SAD! But he stayed right with us the rest of the way. We really did have a great day - but it was tiring! We all went out for ice cream after the zoo, went home for a quick rest and had potluck that night at church where we all compared pictures and put them all together.

Enjoy the pics... Our Crew...Off we go!!

This picture is so freaky to me! It looks like Morgan is in the glass!! Props to whoever took it! (I can hear Shea now saying..."I took that!")

Pretty sure they aren't supposed to be doing that! Poor fish! Look how far Noah's hand is in that water!! Really?!?

This is "US" with 5 kids!

This is probably the "Where the heck is Noah?" face!

Told ya it stinks!!

Moms, we are over it! Liz is sick of strolling my kid around for sure! Just's good exercise we burned some calories!

See more pictures here!

Root Canal - YIKES!!

So the dreaded day had arrived! The day I'm scheduled to have a root canal. The Lord sure knew what he was doing when he put my friend Shea (our hygienist) in my life. She was so sweet to me. I was supposed to go to an endodontist and get this root canal done LAST YEAR...but I was scared. So, she had Dr. Merrill do it for me! It took longer but she was there to hold my hand and reassure me I was going to be fine. She also made fun of me and took incriminating pictures, but our friendship is all the more stronger! Oh, the fun of a dentist office!

She hooked me up to the gas. And I thought, this is not gonna work! But oh...IT DID! That stuff was amazing! All my cares melted away with the rest of my body into the dentist chair! I lowered my sleep mask and checked out!

Thanks friends for making my root canal a day to remember FOREVER!

This is the "It's not gonna work face"

This is the "Oh, yea is working!"

This is dentist "HUMOR" I suppose! They think they are soooo funny! Well, they really are funny!

Ready for business: Comfy socks (check) Sleep Mask (check) and I'm checking OUT!

The gas line blew so they had to finish up without it! But I was so relaxed I didn't care! Just don't make me come back to finish!

I survived my root canal!

And I hope I NEVER have to get another one!!

Animal Day

Wow - what a day! It was a dreaded day! There was a lot of work to be done. The kids were to do a report on all the different types of animals. They had to cut out pictures from magazines and write interesting facts about the animals they found. They also did some class work that included writing facts and different paragraphs about different types of animals. The binder ended up being 58 pages! Noah and I learned A LOT! And we also had to decorate the binder. I am a procrastinator and Sunday is never a good day to put off a 58 page report. SO...Noah and I decided to work on the report Friday night before it was due on Monday. We said we were gonna stay up all night until it was done. We got good and started around 7:30/8 pm and we finished COMPLETELY finished (no we have to do this or that - DONE) at 2 am. At which point we headed out to Krispy Kreme for doughnuts to celebrate our completion!

One this "Animal Day" they would read a one page report they had written the week before about any animal they choose. Noah chose the Great White Shark. All the kids were very impressive with their writings! I was so proud of all of them!

Then there was a break in which the kids had to go dress up like animals. Noah was a bear! His costume was super easy and that made me very happy! They did a program with music and skits, verses they had memorized, and again...SUPER CUTE! Noah had to tell 2 jokes in a skit so he also got to be a "joker." The hard work paid off! Then after their program we had lunch all together. And the food was really good. I brought Chickfila, and Delilah made a cake! YUM!! If that were all we would be perfectly ok but all the parents brought such good food!

Delilah's A-Mazing Cake!!
