Milestones

First of all Mary has reached her first milestone...

She is growing out of her socks!

Noah Graduates K-5!!

AND...

Anna finishes her first year of K4 as Miss Delaware whose state insect is a Lady Bug!

The details are few and far between! Noah graduated K5 - as handsome as ever and he did GREAT in his program. He started not feeling well Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I just prayed him all the way thru Thursday. He felt awful before school and after school and then right before his program and then after his program! He had some lines and you could not tell he wasn't feeling well. Mrs. Vigneulle said he did the best he had ever done! So, I'm thanking the Lord we didn't have to miss the BIG DAY! Here's a clip of one of his lines...Brings tears to my eyes!! Phil 1:6...

While the K5 got dressed in their cap and gowns the K4 sang the Fifty Nifty United States. I'm not sure if any of you have heard that song...VERY CUTE, and Anna now knows all the 50 states. She was Delaware. Each child had a line to recite about each state. Anna had to say..."I was the first state to ratify the Constitution and home to the first state university. My state insect is a lady bug, I am Delaware." Here's a clip of her lines...SO PROUD!!

Jason is not in ANY of the pictures because he had to run the sound, set up the risers, and take them down. I wish I could have got him in at least one picture. Granny and Grandaddy came too and we sat in the Balcony and waved and cheered for the kids...It was MUCH funner up there! We had a GREAT night and I'm in SHOCK that my baby boy is going into the first grade. But before he does we are gonna have a FUN summer!!

Summer...Summer...Summer...Summer...What time is it? Summer time. It's our vacation! (High School Musical - sing it with me...You know you want to!!).

My Mom Rocks!

I read Abbey's blog and therefore was inspired to write this one. And now I found myself asking...What do I remember about my mom from my childhood? When she is gone what will be that thing I see that makes me miss her. So I sit and think...

If it's a certain car...Well, it would be the old cars - Buick was the car of choice in our home! My dad can fix cars and they hate car payments so they always got an old car (which she hates) and would drive it until it just was beyond fixing - which is a LONG time. She rarely had air conditioning in her car and she would always crank the music up and have her arm out the window waving it just a certain way - kinda like a wave. My mom loves music and has so much rhythm it's crazy. I don't have as much as she does...she can feel a beat and it moves through her! Me, I have to try a little harder! I'm stiff I guess...That's where Jazzercise helps me (HA, HA, HA) - not her!! When it came to our car rides she would crank the music up and "dance" (as much as you could in a car) and I would sing at the top of my lungs. I remember when Jason and I were dating he mentioned one time that he loved how we sang in the car - I mean all out sing like no one's watching (that was my part as a child)! We still do that and our kids do too - no one has picked up the dancing though - Maybe Mary will be the one with rhythm!! Mom doesn't restrict her "moves" to the car either - a lady from my bible study who goes to church with her now said to me..."My husband and I love to watch your mom worship at church! She just really gets into it!" You go mom!! Dance before the Lord! (Laine and Shalita - it was Pat Singletary - funny huh!)

Speaking of dancing...Whenever I hear "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "Time After Time" or "True Colors" - those will take me back to my mom!! They even now make me want to grab a brush and jump on the couch and dance until the songs over!! For those of you who don't know she used to dress up like Cindy Lauper and dance and lipsinc in contests. She won several!! She looked just like her it is scary!! She would also pick us up from daycare dressed up like C.Lauper! NEAT, NEAT, NEAT story! Maybe I'll post that one someday!!

I guess Christmas is another biggie. Bows and Wrapping Paper remind me of her...Her packages are wrapped perfectly and adorned with unique bows! My mom is the BEST Santa there ever was! She always made Christmas so magical! She loves Christmas and will sit down and cry when it's over (which she has passed down to me). She is a very thoughtful gift giver and her gifts are ALWAYS the best! There is no gift she can't get her hands on either - Tickle me Elmo and others...She would buy those things just to get in the thick of the shopping frenzy! She loves to sit at the mall on Christmas Eve...Knowing her shopping is done - she usually would pick up at least one thing on Christmas Eve just to "feel Christmas." She loves for the whole family to be together and we are fortunate enough to give that to her! We actually enjoy it too! About the gift giving...Christmas is her thing. She doesn't give "gifts" in pretty packages and large dollar amounts all year! It's CHRISTMAS! And we are the same way now. Birthdays you get something reasonable like a giftcard. Christmas you usually get what you want and she enjoys the challenge of finding it!

I love the fact that my mom loves her family and has taught us to do the same! She loves to be around my sister and me and our kids! Just to be...not to do anything...Just to enjoy the company of family! I eat lunch with her (and now my dad) at least once a week - just us! I love our talks and I especially love when she calls just to see if I have something to say...I love when she says, "I don't have anything new!" and I say "Me Either! I'll talk to you tomorrow!" Because usually tomorrow will hold something "new" to talk about! I feel like we are best friends! I think "MY MOM ROCKS!"

I think my little family rocks too! And who knows what they will remember about me when they grow up!

My Mothers Day!

And if you think..."That Page...She's Crazy!!" I get it from my mom!! Can I get an AMEN from those of you who know her!! Now that I've sat here and thought about her I have a million more memories and there are things like Diet Coke Caffine Free, the Titanic, and Home Alone that all remind me of her ...I'll stop with those! She has helped shape me into the woman and mom I am today! I love her!!

Leave a comment about what you remember about your mom...better yet write a blog about it! And to all my "Mom" friends...I hope you had a GREAT Mothers Day!

The Recital

We had a GREAT time at recital this year. It was May 17th and it was The Wizard of Oz theme. It was so great and creative! It also kept Noah's attention and he kinda knew what was coming next. Anna was the Lions and tapped to "I am a Dandelion" - so cute, I should have recorded that one too b/c it got the loudest applause. REALLY CUTE!!

But her favorite dance was Baby Face because she got to stand by Jacey Grace - that's what dancing is all about. I guess her motto is Dance with the Ones You Love!

I just thought she was so beautiful! And I'm so proud that she danced BOTH dances and actually had fun! For those of you who may not know...Last year she had a meltdown on the stage because "she was tired"! I guess she grew up in a year!

Shalita you did a GREAT job on the recital and I hope you are just as pleased as we are! You are VERY good at what you do and I just love you so much!! Thank you for all you did for us! For all those who can make the trek to Springville and want to put your girls (or boys) in dance - 5678 Dance and More is the place to be...

And here's a short video of Baby Face...Anna is 4th from the left! She loves her "Spin Dress" ENJOY!!

Update...

I'm in the mood to just post collages and not really say much! I think I'm suffering from baby brain. None of my thoughts are very clear (I know - when are they ever?). I want to say things but then they just don't sound right or are inappropriate for the masses (you know all those people who read my blog - HA).

But, I can't do that. Our computer is broke and I'm borrowing one my dad had at his house - which means - I can't upload pictures and I can't use Shutterfly Studio! So...I'll just have to type!

First of all Mary is TERRIFIC! She went for her one month check up today and is 9 lb. 12 oz. and 22" long! That's how much Noah weighed when he was born - that fact AMAZES ME! The Dr. actually said "WHOO HOO" when discussing her weight gain and progress. She made me a proud momma!! She is 75% in height and weight. She is VERY healthy and looks great - She got a clean bill of health - 2 shots too - very pitiful!

Speaking of Mary...We had her dedicated yesterday and it was GREAT! I love the way Brian did her dedication. He took the names of the babies and read scripture pertaining to them. The first little girl was Anna and he read about the prophetess Anna from Luke (which is who we named our Anna after). And for Mary - he used Selah! He read Ps. 24 and prayed an amazing personal prayer of dedication for her. That she may have clean hands and a pure heart, not giving her soul to idols, for her salvation, that she would be part of a generation that seeks God. Thank you Brian for your friendship and shepherding of our family!

Mother's Day was also so much fun. My family was at church with us and then we had lunch at my house. The kids loved playing together and Silena (my sister) has posted pictures of the day on her blog - (to the left). It was so relaxing and the kids had us all laughing!

ALSO, another big event happened this weekend. JASON GRADUATED!! He graduated with a Master of Arts in Apologetics. YAY Jason! I'm so happy for you! It's weird but he still has to take a few summer classes and then he will receive his diploma in the mail but he actually walked Friday and he was asked to give a "speech" - it was short and very sweet! Noah looked at me while he was talking and said, "This is kinda boring!" Gotta love their honesty!! I enjoyed Jason's speech but come on...Graduation is boring! Then Patrick and Macie took us out to Tavern on the Summit - double date - NO KIDS!!! Very relaxing...

So hopefully next time I'll have pictures to show! Next up...Dance recital and then Noah graduates K5!
